Mattress size chart & bed dimension guide. Part 1

Research what size mattress might work best for you and your bedroom space.

Crib

This size is made specifically for cribs.  Many cribs adjust into toddler beds as the child gets older as well.  This size mattress is typically 28″x52″.  Bear in mind if you measure most mattresses they can appear off by about an inch or so in one direction or the other.

Twin

This size mattress is 38″x75″. The Twin Size Mattress is the quintessential mattress for kids that outgrew their crib or toddler bed.

This is also the most common size for as bunk beds & day beds.  This size is also ideal for shorter stature adults who have limited space.

*Bear in mind if you measure most mattresses they can appear off by about an inch or so in one direction or the other.

Twin XL (Xtra Long)

This size mattress is 38″x 80″. The Twin XL Size Mattress is the best mattress for kids that outgrew their crib or toddler bed who are tall and have limited room space.  Also a great choice for adults who have limited space and require more length than a regular twin for leg room.

This is also the most common size for dorm room bunk beds and lofts.

Full/Double

This size mattress is 54″x 75″. The Full size is commonly knows as a double or “standard” size.This is a great size for kids seeking a larger mattress.

Also a great choice for adults who have limited space but want more width than a twin provides.

Although two people can sleep on a full, it is not ideal.  If you have a partner, child or pet that sleeps with you, if you can fit a queen, we would suggest upgrading.

Full/Double XL

This size mattress is 54″x 80″. The Full XL size is suited for singles who want more space and may not have the space for a queen.  You will get the same length as a queen for added leg room.

Also a great choice for adults who have limited space but want more width than a twin but the length of a queen.

Although two people can sleep on a full, it is not ideal.  If you have a partner, child or pet that sleeps with you, if you can fit a queen, we would suggest upgrading.
